Jacqueline Diercks, Pharm. D, Pharmacy Manager of Skagit Regional Clinc at Riverbend, will be our guest speaker. Ms. Diercks will be helping us:

1. To describe the processing of a prescription from receipt to point of sale.

2. To identify challenges and barriers to patients receiving their medications.

3. To list areas where pharmacists and healthcare providers can collaborate for improved patient care.

“Surviving Suicide” w/Francie Mooney CMA (AAMA) – 1.5 CEU Francie provides a personal and informative presentation on surviving the suicide of her husband and what resources are available for the family and friends who must move forward through this type of crisis! Officer Elections.

“Midwifery Services” w/Michele Jackson, CNM, ARNP, Evergreen Health & Officer Nominations will be presented on Thursday Feb 24th meeting due to scheduling conflicts.

Whatcom Chapter CEU

Our presentation this month is titled “Pediactric Vaccinations.”

Our presenter is Victoria Geldart, CMA (AAMA), and is a Primary CMA (AAMA) with Fidalgo Medical Associates of Island Hospital.

Victoria will discuss the following:
* Site/location of injection.
* PPD.
* Appropriate age to vaccinate.
* Educating patient and parents.
* After care.
Attendees to this presentation will be able to understand the reasoning why healthcare advises to vaccinate our children, how to perform an injection to the correct site, when to perform various vaccines as are required a timely series, educate patients as well as parents, wear appropriate protective gear, and aftercare. This will be an interesting topic that will provide good information to those who have involvement in this medical niche.

This meeting will also include our Christmas Pot Luck. Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite dish and share some holiday joy and cheer. Hope to see everyone there.
