Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Medical Assistant, Licensed MA-C (0.8 FTE, DAY SHIFT) to work in Breast Care Center at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
The Medical Assistant, Licensed MA-C plays a vital role on the direction of the Nursing Supervisor, Clinic Manager or appropriate staff to provide basic patient care to assigned patients.

In this position you will:

Greet and prepare patients for the practitioner. Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem.
Under supervision of the practitioner, inform patients of lab results, call in prescriptions to pharmacies and return practitioners phone messages.
Document all interactions in patient’s medical record.
Under supervision of practitioner or nurse supervisor, administer approved medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular or intradermal routes.
Obtain non-invasive body fluid specimens.
May draw blood, perform EKGs; assist with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures to appropriate level of training as established procedures.
Provide patient mobility assistance as necessary.


Required qualifications for this position include:

Graduate of certified medical assistant program.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within one month of hire.
Washington State Medical Assistant Certified or Medical Assistant Interim certification.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:

One year medical assisting experience in a clinic setting preferred.
