The purpose of the meeting is for members to discuss the future course of the
Skagit/Island Chapter; reorganization vs. dissolution. Also discussed will be if the
chapter is dissolved how it will impact current members. Members would be become
Members-at-Large, join another chapter and could still be active WSSMA and AAMA
members.
Viable interest means that members are willing to hold an election for Chapters officers
that will serve and to ensure that requirements of the chapter are met by following the
Skagit/Island Bylaws and Standing Rules, as well as fulfilling responsibilities required by
WSSMA and AAMA as part of the tri-level membership.
If you are not able to attend, you may send your questions/comments to Sandy
Erlewine, CMA (AAMA) at email address: serlewine@yahoo.com by February 22nd .
These will be compiled and brought to the Zoom meeting, so your voice is heard.
Additional information will be made available on the WSSMA website/ Skagit/Island
Chapter page at WSSMA website after this meeting, as well as after the outcome of the
WSSMA Board decision scheduled for March 20th .

This is written notification of planned dissolution of Skagit/Island Chapter of Medical
Assistants Chapter at the WSSMA State Board Meeting scheduled for Sunday, March
20th as a Zoom meeting, if there is no current viable interest from membership in
keeping the Skagit/Island Chapter going.

Whatcom Chapter of Medical Assistants invites you to join us for a Zoom
meeting on Tuesday, Jan 18  (6:30 pm Zoom sign-in, Speaker @ 7:00 PM
(PST)). A  business meeting will follow afterwards for those interested in
volunteering to help keep the chapter going.

Our Speaker for this month is Mary Lou Papich, MSN, RN, Adjunct Nursing
Instructor at Whatcom Community College.  She will be speaking on:  The
Two Types of Pain – Nociceptive and Neuropathic Pain.  The presentation
will last one hour;  one CEU General has been applied for.

We hope you will consider volunteering and helping with our chapter
functions and join our business meeting afterwards where we will elect
officers and delegates (to Annual WSSMA Conference) for Whatcom
County Chapter.  Delegates must be a current active member in good
standing (dues paid before or on December 31, 2021).

If you plan to attend the Zoom Presentation, you must pre-register, and
afterwards you will receive confirmation with the Zoom link.
